​Why teach mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a tool that can reduce stress, improve focus, and help us to make more thoughtful decisions. Many people find simple pleasure in taking a mindful break during the day to just be.

Many Lincoln teachers were trained by Mindful Schools, an organization which began their work in Oakland public schools. Some discussions/practices that may be introduced in the classroom include:
